The Perfect Hat- The Double-Sided Wisconsin Winter Hat
A reversible knit hat for style and warmth
This year, more than any other year, I really feel like we need a comfy warm double-sided basic knit hat. First, so that the girls can continue to play outside in these socially distanced COVID times and second, because a warm sensible handmade garment seems like the best way to send some love to those loved ones I can’t go see.

As many of you know knitting is both my favorite stress reliever and second most enjoyable hobby. Although maybe I should move it up to first place since it is calorie free unlike my cooking obsession. But that is beside the point.
It is officially Winter in Wisconsin! We got snow yesterday, a beautiful fat-snow-flake snow that quickly melted leaving the brown of late Fall, but still there was snow. My daughters dressed as quickly as possible yesterday morning and ran downstairs to giggle in the falling snow; reminding me that I had not yet posted the all important Double-Sided Wisconsin Winter Hat.
Hat Description
A double-layer knit hat, this hat is ubiquitous across Wisconsin, a basic beanie, attached to a second basic beanie allowing it to be both double-layered and also reversible as well. Knit in the recommended baby merino wool it will keep heads, big and small, warm and itch free all day long.
The genius of this hat is that it has no seams and is knit as one doubled hat. One side is then pushed inside the other to create a double-layer that can be reversed as needed. It’s an easy knit and takes less than two skeins of yarn. Give it a go and let me know how it works for you!
